Saturn Songs
These ambient pieces were done in Winter and early Spring of 2011. They were inspired by images sent back by the Cassini space probe which has been exploring Saturn, its moons and rings. These images can be seen on the "Ciclops" website: http://www.ciclops.org/view/7937/Sunrise-on-Saturn?js=1

Enceladus is a small moon of Saturn. Plumes of what may be water vapor were observed gushing into space, arousing interest in the possibility of water on the moon; see image at right.
Helene (right) is the name of a small moon; essentially a rock in space.
Titan (right) is the largest moon of Saturn, and is sometimes shrouded in a purplish haze, origin unclear.
Hyperion (right) is a small moon that tumbles as it orbits Saturn.
Like Jupiter, Saturn has a gaseous surface that is often in turmoil. The false-color image at right shows a swirling vortex on Saturn.
Saturn, Jupiter, and the asteroid belt are full over various-sized dust and rock particles, which could raise havoc in collisions.
If Enceladus has water, perhaps even oceans under sheets of ice, one can speculate about life under that ice. After the fact, I noticed part of this piece sounds like a theme in the Christmas song "We Three Kings"; An unconscious metaphor for a search for life?
Two small rocky moons of Saturn, seeming in some sort of relationship.
Saturn's poles are prone to huge storms, like polar vortex at right (false-color image).
Saturn's famous rings are really rocks and dust, possibly from former moons.
